Search for answers in our Star Wars Toy Collecting FAQ
Star Wars Toy Museum was planned -- at first -- for all fans. It seemed such a shame that they should have no site to visit that simply celebrates the art of collecting, and to help them share that excitement with others. It was hoped that they would read our own stories of collecting and learn more about the wonderful world of Star Wars toy collecting in the process. Our sites initial purpose was to stimulate your passion for collecting and your pride in being Star Wars fans.
But as our research went on and so many great stories were shared by various sources, it was decided to make this a site that can be of interest to Star Wars super-collectors also.
On the theory that sites that merely sell items don't do the products justice, this website took its present form.
We hope all of our visitors will vindicate this theory, find pleasure in our Star Wars site, and know that they were its inspiration.
To all Star Wars fans, may this site remind you that many other people throughout the world love these movies and collect these toys, and that each and every one of them contributes in some way to the continuation of the Star Wars legacy -- as you do now by the effort you have made to visit us.
May the Force be with you!

Question: What is the most sought after or rare Star Wars action figure?
One of the biggest Holy Grails for those whose hobby is Star Wars toy collecting is the vinyl cape Jawa. Released in 1978, it was thought that the original vinyl cape was too thin and obviously not as substanial as
the cape that Jawas wore in the film (as pictured on the Kenner action figure card). The vinyl cape was therefore discontinued and replaced with a more
substantial cloth cape.
Because the vinyl cape was the original Jawa accessory, and because it's time on the market was short-lived, demand for the vinyl cape Jawa have made the little fellows quite a sensation among Star Wars toy collectors. Vinyl cape Jawa is one of the most sought-after and prized action figures of the entire Kenner line. It remains a hot item in Star Wars toy collecting circles.
Buyer beware. There are reproduction vinyl capes in the marketplace, so you may end up paying a lot for something that isn't vintage.
